Hometown (band)

HomeTown are a six piece Irish boy band, formed and managed by Louis Walsh. They are signed to RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment UK. The six piece vocal group are made up of singers from the four corners of Ireland. Walsh auditioned almost 2,000 young hopefuls for his latest pop endeavour and spent over two weeks mulling over his decision before settling on the final six members. HomeTown consists of; Cian Morrin, Dayl Cronin, Dean Gibbons, Josh Gray, Ryan McLoughlin and Brendan Murray.
The band opened for Olly Murs in Ireland earlier this year and supported The Vamps throughout the UK and Ireland. They are also doing a UK Radio tour and are planning on doing a singing tour later this year in the UK, to tie in with the release of their debut single.
==History==
The band was originally composed of five members, Gareth Borrow (Derry), Ryan McLoughlin (Newbridge), Brendan Murray (Galway), Cian Morrin (Castlebar) and Dayl Cronin (Clonmel). They were picked out of a thousand applicants for a band project by Walsh.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Louis Walsh picks Derry’s Gareth for new boy band )〕 Borrow was later removed from the band and Walsh brought in two new members; Josh Gray (Blessington) and Dean Gibbons (Tallaght), turning HomeTown into a six-member band.
Their first single, "Where I Belong", went to number one in Ireland, becoming the fastest selling single from a debut act and the fastest selling single from an Irish artist in 2014. The single was written by Kodaline.
The band's second single, "Cry For Help", was released on 27 March 2015 in Ireland. It, too, reached number one in the Irish Singles Chart. The band began a signing tour around Ireland shortly after.

HomeTown released their first single "Where I Belong" in the UK on 24 July 2015, with an impact date of 4 September 2015.
